Labuan Round Island Kayak Challenge 50km Marathon 2011

Labuan: Malaysia's most challenging marathon 50km Labuan Round Island Kayak Challenge on April 24th organised by Tourism Malaysia and Persatuan Pengembara, this year holds out cash of RM48,000.

It is expected to draw participants from Malaysian states and from Singapore, Brunei and Europe.

Race Director, M Yunus Waidin said: "There is no other similar kayak competition in the region, it is a back-breaking race and a competition that counts, and no seasoned canoeist would like to miss out on the great opportunity to experience the challenge."

He said that the number of participants would be limited to 130 and the organisers had already received many inquiries.

The competition which is a component of the annual Labuan Sea Challenge is held under three categories of Men Single Open offering prizes from RM3,000 to RM400 for the 10th spot.

While the two other categories Men and Mixed Double offer prizes from RM5,000 to RM600 for the 10th spot.
